The shows I watch

It may be more appropriate to list the shows I don't watch but here is the current list of shows I attempt to keep up on...
ABC shows- Grey's Anatomy, Private Practice, Modern Family, Revenge (if you aren't watching you should be),
NBC shows- NBC has really fallen from the good old days from Cosby Show a long long time ago and Friends and ER from not as long ago.  Parks and Rec, Occasionally The Office, The Voice, Parenthood
CBS- The Good Wife, How I Met your Mother, 2 Broke Girls, Mike and Molly, Sometimes Two and a Half Men, Rules of Engagement
CW-90210 (I can't let it go, the original is one of my all time favorites), Ringer, Hart of Dixie
Bravo- Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.

This is the list of shows I regularly record on my DVR but I definitely watch a lot of other stuff too, including HGTV, lots of sports, and this show called Little Einsteins.  This list is subject to change at anytime but I rarely miss an episode of any of them.

The fall finale

Wow!  Grey's Anatomy has been fantastic this year and tonight's episode was no exception.  There was no ghosts, no half dead people coming back to life, and no crazy Katherine Heig;.  The show went back to the basics and explored the relationships of George, Alex, and Mer.  I was nervous that they were not going to show if Alex and Meredith were ok, thank goodness they did.  I really wish I didn't have to wait for the next episode oh well if the TV continues to deliver I will wait and find solace in all my other shows!

Grey's Anatomy

What I hate about watching a show I love is when it is over, I am bummed I have to wait to watch the next episode.  Thursday night's episode of Grey's Anatomy was no exception.  The last two weeks have been good.  I have always enjoyed the show the most when they focus on the residents, their relationships, and their medicine.  Tonight we watched their first solo surgeries. George and Izzie came to mind a bit during this episode and how they would have responded as well. Even though Katherine Heigl wore on me towards the end of her run, I enjoyed Isobel Stevens during the first couple seasons she was on the show.  Anyway back to tonight's ep...
If you haven't watched on your DVR yet, STOP reading here.
L-this is for you.
The chief stepped down tonight and Owen Hunt became the new chief of surgery.  If looks could kill during that announcement, Bailey would probably be on trial for murder.  Her character continues to be one of my favorites.  She is stable and provides great drama but also some great comic relief.  At the end of the episode watching her and the Richard in the elevator was a perfect way to begin the week wrap up.
Kepner is a little bit scattered, and I am not sure how I feel about her.  She is still trying to get her residents to listen to her but they have other ideas.  Callie trying to comfort her about not surviving as chief reminds us how she didn't manage the leadership role well.  It also opens the door for a new chief resident maybe?
Karev continues his path of questionable acts tonight by turning down the pedo surgery and having horrible bedside manner, only to redeem himself in viewer's eyes by acting like he cares when it really matters.  There is a lot out there for Shonda to explore with his character.
Avery wimped out on his solo surgery because he let Arizona get to him.  He is the talented guy who is trying to figure out how to showcase his talent in my opinion.
Cristina gets into the fundamentals for real when we realize she really doesn't know how to do an appendectomy.  Clever way to incorporate the interns.  It was even better when Teddy didn't know either and a nurse had to prove the point that it doesn't take an MD degree to be a very valuable part of the team.  Cristina and Owen also seemed to be having problems dealing with Cristina's abortion.  They had awkward conversations and no idea how to act.  At show end, we see them finally click again after sharing some tainted spring rolls.  Is is just me or is Owen Hunt becoming a little more likable?
Meredith still has no news about Zola and Derek is pretty upset about everything.  Mer is concerned about their lack of communication affecting them in the OR.  She operated on a aneurysm with Derek and there were some tense moments, but all ended up ok. Derek even clapped for her at the end.  Outside of the OR, Meredith and Derek finally talked and he admitted that the things that he hates about her are the exact things he loves about her. He also said he is committed to the post it they had hanging on the wall.  Meredith decided that the her punishment should be to not work together so they can be together.  Still no word on the baby.
I am loving the Meredith/Cristina  dynamic this year.  I am excited to watch what happens with Bailey, hearing love triangle, and I am hoping for the best for Alex. Also, I just realized that there has been no Lexie the last two weeks, I was excited for the Sloan Lexie drama to continue but to be honest I haven't really noticed.  She will be back on the Oct 13th episode.  Anyone else miss her?   This is the quick rundown, I am sure there is a lot more to say but I gotta watch some more shows!

Nothing like a favorite TV show after a long week

Why is it that on Friday nights after everyone is in bed, there is nothing better than curling up a with a blanket on the couch to watch something on TV.  I still don't know what I am going to watch.  Last night (Thursday) I watched nothing, and I recorded 5 shows so I have to decide.  Grey's sounds good, although I just read that George O'Malley's mom is coming back at some point this season, and the comment on the site I read was something about George's ghost.  I will say it here, if there is another ghost storyline, that may signal the end of the line for me and Meredith Grey.  Enough for tonight, I need to watch some TV!  Here's hoping for a happy ending for Derek, Meredith and that precious baby.

Wheel of Fortune

Growing up Wheel of Fortune was always on TV after dinner.  I never really thought about it too much until recently.  As I got older I would make fun of my father for having it on and he would always say, "Good wholesome TV.  A family show."  Now as I have my own kids, we sometimes need an after dinner distraction we turn on The Wheel.  The noises, the colors, the clapping, all of these things make my kids happy.  I have found that a happy kid is a happy mommy.   I think I would be good on that show, I yell at the dumb contestants who spin one too many times or can't solve the easy puzzle.  Maybe someday I could be on the show and meet Pat and Vanna. It is probably a lot easier in the comfort of my living room.   In the meantime I will continue to solve puzzles some Monday through Friday nights, 6:30-7PM, and think to myself, "Good wholesome family TV."

TV tonight

When I watch a TV show I want to talk about it.  I usually watch my TV on the DVR at a later date or at least a later time.  There are usually few people out there that have the show fresh in their minds when I get to it.  I hope to use this blog as an opportunity to express my feelings about TV instantly.  I think it will help me sleep better at night because there are some nights that I lay awake thinking about what TV shows I will talk about at work tomorrow.
Wednesday is a slow night for TV in my house.  Modern Family is the only show that I usually watch.   This is a good thing because I work late on Wednesday's and my husband is home alone with the kids.  He is not very happy on the nights that I have two shows recording at once.  When this happens, he cannot watch his sporting event or whatever he wants to watch, and that usually isn't the Bachelor or 90210.  If I have two shows recording, I pray he is busy on the computer so that he doesn't notice and stop one of my recordings.  By the way, we have more than one TV, he could always go watch in a different room!  Why are sports more important that my shows anyway, just because they are live I guess.
Back to Modern Family since it is fresh in my head... if you don't watch you should.  It is funny, laugh out loud funny, and tonight was no exception.  I am still laughing about Cam pulling the cupboard door off the cabinet during his rage stage, Claire telling the parking cop that she was now, "Law and Order, Special Parking Unit, and Luke's junk food eating moment.  I also like how Phil thinks Luke's comment was genius and proceeds to do something dumb, yet inspiring.
I am still trying to figure out this blogging thing, forgive my grammatical errors, I watched too much TV in high school too.  I think I will get the hang of it.  I hope that some of you will realize what a high percentage on the DVR can do for you!
Stay tuned for a list of shows that I watch, a list of shows that I follow and the difference between the two.

Something new

I have always wanted to write something, a book, an article, and I never knew what it should be about.  Today two of my coworkers gave me an idea... TV.  To those that know me, I have an addiction, I watch way too much TV.  When September comes and all the season premiers are upon us I make a grid to make sure I can watch or DVR all my favorites. I secretly hope my husband has work to do when the kids go to bed so I can watch MY shows if we have run out of the shows we watch together.  I am upset if the power goes out or a show starts late because I will have to try to find it online.  I love TV.
I have a coworker who is not watching Grey's Anatomy this year but she still wants to know what is happening. I filled her in and after that fill in she and anther coworker from the office said to me that I should Blog about TV.  The light bulb went on and I got excited.
Let's see where this thing goes....
